My Thoughts on Exercise One

Overall, I am quite disappointed with our final piece. I think that we could have done a lot better, especially because I felt like our initial idea was so strong. Members of the class seemed excited to watch our original film on the 'happy keys' busker, and they even said in the viewing that they wished it was about him. I think that Myself and Leon's positive attitude throughout has however enabled to get something done. We could have easily let the work get on top of us and not finished the piece in time, however, we worked hard and at least we had something to show in the screening. Ideally, I think we would like to re-do this exercise and submit it with the final film. This does however depend on how much time we have.
Elements of pre-production was missed out as part of this exercise. This was because proper storyboards could have not been completed as finding the busker was so last minute. As for the schedule, this would have been impossible to form.
I have learnt a lot from creating this short film. The main thing I have gained, is to remember to, as much as possible, have reliable contributers. As well as this, I plan to do a lot of pre-production for the main project, as I think this will allow us to be a lot more prepared and put less stress on us. Because we are just a group of two, this has worked in two ways. I have found it hard in a way, in that the work load is a lot greater and our roles tend to be merged quite a lot. I do however find it dramatically easier working in a smaller group. I had a very stressful experience working in a group of six for my drama project, due to everyone having their own ideas and wanting to have a strong input. Being a pair means that we are both available to film together the majority of the time, and that we usually agree with each others ideas.
